Lake Park Friends was present when the Historic Preservation Commission met to consider demolition of the Rustic Wooden Bridge, which spans the Locust Street Ravine. The Commission decided to table our Certificate of Appropriateness application until new construction is to begin. The HPC would like to see a design plan and a more concrete cost estimate. Lake Park Friends is currently seeking a cost estimate and is in the process of fundraising. Here’s a copy of the letter that LPF sent to the HPC regarding the bridge’s current condition and photos:
