How do I donate an Olmsted Poet’s Walk Memorial Bench?

As of May 2014, bench installation is temporarily on hold. Please call the Lake Park Friends office to be put on a waiting list or to find out if there are other ways to memorialize a loved one through enhancements in Lake Park.

Is my dog required to be on a leash in Lake Park?

Yes, and the leash should be no longer than 6 feet and strong enough to restrain your dog. Your dog must be under control at all times. The 2015/2016 Milwaukee County fine for not having your dog leashed is $200.50. For off-leash dog parks, refer to the Milwaukee County Parks Dogs page.

How do I reserve a picnic area?

For picnic area rentals, call Milwaukee County Parks at 414-257-8005 or refer to their website.

What if I want to hold a special event in the park such as a run/walk or family reunion with a bouncy house?
I would like to get married in Lake Park. How should I proceed?

For a wedding permit, call Milwaukee County Parks Special Events Office at 414-257-4503 or refer to the webpage.

I would like to hold my wedding at the North Point Lighthouse. Who do I call?

Please call the North Point Lighthouse directly at 414-332-6754. Or, refer to the NPLH website.

Do I need a photography permit to take wedding or graduation photos in Lake Park?

Yes, a permit is required. Please refer to the Milwaukee County Parks Photography Permit page.

Is the Marcia Coles Community Room available to me?

The room’s purpose is for public use, and is not intended for commercial use. It is available free of charge and preference is given to community-based educational or recreational activities that benefit Lake Park. The room is open 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. To use the Marcia Coles Community Room (lower level Lake Park Pavilion, below Lake Park Bistro Restaurant), call Milwaukee County Parks at 414-257-5703.

Does Lake Park have a picnic pavilion?

No, it does not have a covered picnic pavilion.
